American Idol is one of the most watched programs in the United States. American Idol is a singing competition, which started out in the year June 2002. In this program, the contestants who believe that they can become an idol come to perform in front of the three judges. The judges of this program include Randy Jackson who is a record producer, Paula Abdul who is a former pop start and Simon Cowell who is the producer and manager. In America, American Idol is featured on Fox Network, whereas in Canada it is screened on CTV. American Idol has been known for the razor sharp comments of Simon Cowell. This show has proven to be a great opportunity for individuals who want to make a career as a singer. All the winners of the different seasons have made a tremendous success in the world of music as they have sold millions of records throughout the world. This show is for the ones who think that they can prove themselves and can stand out among all. There are different people who think that Simon Cowell should not pass bad remarks to the contesters, but otherwise this show is a mega success. The first winner of American Idol was Kelly Clarkson in the year September 2002. Kelly has been a huge success and signed a contract with the RCA Records. Just after she won the American Idol season, she released two singles, and the song “A Moment Like This” jumped to the number one position of the Billboards, which broke the record set by The Beatles. Other winners of American Idol include Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks.
